Multi-purpose grinding and blending discs, KLINGSPOR SMT Flap Discs offer an aggressive cut while leaving a pleasing finish. Often, one of the SMT discs will take the place of what is now two separate grinding operations - heavy weld removal with a hard grinding disc and then final blending and clean-up with a fibre disc. A built-in fiber-reinforced consumable backing plate eliminates the need for a separate backing pad. Plus you may use your standard angle grinder mounting nut.
SMT 618 This flap disc utilizes a tough plastic fibre-reinforced backing plate for more aggressive grinding possibilities. The flat shape makes this model most suitable for grinding flat surfaces. The SMT 618 is made with our exceptionally durable Alumina Zirconia - perfect for most metal surfaces.

SMT 624 a new twist on our convex flap discs. The new SMT 624 utilizes a 12° angled backing plate. This will enable the disc to be used on more severely curved surfaces like pipes and storage tanks. Sold in boxes of 10.

It is a consumable fiber-reinforced backing just like our other SMT flap discs and with a new 12° convex angle. The 630 is best-suited for cooler edge grinding of stainless steel.
